Terms & Conditions

The terms that apply to purchases, repairs, trade-ins and use of our website.

Last updated 21 October 2026

1.1 About CellTechZA

CellTechZA (Pty) Ltd (“CellTechZA”, “we”, “us”) sells new, refurbished and pre-owned electronic devices, provides repairs and diagnostics, and offers device trade-ins, buybacks and related services in South Africa. These terms apply to our website, online and in-store purchases, repairs, and other transactions, alongside any quotation, repair authorisation or agreement accepted by the customer.

CellTechZA is an independent repair and resale business and is not an authorised repair centre or affiliate of Apple, Samsung, Huawei or other manufacturers unless expressly stated.

1.2 Products and prices

Product descriptions will identify the device’s relevant condition and specifications. Refurbished or pre-owned devices may show cosmetic wear and may contain replacement parts; material defects and limitations will be disclosed. Cosmetic grades describe appearance, not necessarily battery health or remaining lifespan. Any stated battery-health figure or functionality must be accurate.

Consumer prices are in South African rand and include VAT where applicable. Delivery charges and other fees are shown before payment. Prices, promotions and availability may change before an order is accepted. We may decline an order on lawful grounds, including unavailable stock, failed payment verification or suspected fraud. For confirmed orders we will honour our legal and contractual obligations.

1.3 Payments, deposits and special orders

Payment must be made through an accepted method. Goods may be withheld until payment is verified. Certain specially sourced devices or repair parts may require a deposit, ordinarily 30% where quoted. Deposits are not automatically non-refundable: cancellations and any reasonable charges are subject to the agreement and applicable law. Sourcing and completion dates are estimates unless expressly agreed otherwise.

1.4 Repairs and customer devices

We will assess devices, provide required estimates and obtain authorisation before chargeable repairs. Additional work or charges require further approval. An authorised diagnostic fee may apply even if a repair is declined or cannot be completed.

Devices may have hidden or pre-existing faults, particularly after liquid damage, impact damage or previous repairs. We cannot guarantee that every repair will succeed or that unrelated faults will be corrected. Material unusual risks will be explained separately before the relevant work. Opening or repairing a device may affect manufacturer seals or water resistance. We remain responsible for legally required care and workmanship.

Customers should back up their data and remove unnecessary SIM cards and accessories before submitting devices. Diagnostics or software work may require access or a reset. We will access personal information only for authorised, lawful purposes and handle it in accordance with our Privacy Policy.

1.5 Warranties

Devices sold by CellTechZA carry a six-month warranty, alongside the statutory rights available under the Consumer Protection Act (CPA). Where qualifying goods fail to meet statutory quality requirements within six months of delivery, the customer may elect the applicable repair, replacement or refund remedy. These rights also apply to qualifying refurbished and pre-owned goods.

New or reconditioned replacement parts installed during a repair, and the labour needed to install them, carry a minimum three-month warranty, or a longer warranty if expressly provided. Repairs must meet the CPA’s service-quality requirements. Warranties do not ordinarily cover new accidental damage, misuse, new liquid damage or ordinary wear and tear, but exclusions will be applied only where relevant and lawful. A general “as is” description does not remove mandatory rights.

1.6 Trade-ins and buybacks

Remote valuations are provisional until the device is inspected and tested. If the final offer changes, the seller may accept or decline it. Sellers must be at least 18, own the device or be authorised to sell it, disclose relevant defects and restrictions, and remove activation locks and personal accounts. We may request identity and address verification and record device identifiers under the Second-Hand Goods Act. Suspected stolen or unlawfully supplied devices may be refused or reported. Statutory holding and recordkeeping requirements apply.

1.7 Collection, cancellations and unclaimed devices

Collection and courier arrangements, returns and cancellations are governed by our Shipping and Returns Policies and applicable law. Customers must collect completed or unrepaired devices after notification. We may charge only lawful, properly disclosed storage or cancellation charges. Uncollected devices do not automatically become our property; any disposal must follow lawful procedures.

1.8 Website use and liability

Users must not misuse our website, commit fraud, introduce malicious software or infringe others’ rights. Website content belongs to CellTechZA or its licensors. Third-party websites and payment providers may have separate terms.

We may update these terms prospectively. Nothing here excludes liability or consumer rights that cannot lawfully be excluded, including liability arising from negligence or applicable statutory obligations. South African law governs these terms. Please contact us first with concerns; unresolved consumer disputes may be referred to the appropriate ombud, regulator or court.
